New Year Celebrations, New Exhibition Preparations — "Migrations"

DOEprojekts (Deborah Adams Doering and Glenn N. Doering) are creating monoprints using environmentally sensitive Akua Inks in preparation for their upcoming exhibition titled "Migrations," opening on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Sheen Center Gallery, 18 Bleecker Street, NYC. The exhibition continues until Sunday April 9, 2017.

The prints, which combine DOEprojekts' Coreforms with symbolic references to national flags, will form a movable work called "Global Waving."

Doerings were mentored and assisted by Akua Inks inventor and master printmaker, Susan Rostow, in her Brooklyn workshop and studio.

In addition to the "Global Waving" series of prints, the "Migrations" exhibition will feature "Migration Maps" that have been exquisitely embroidered by a group of Rwandan craftswomen based on DOEprojekts' coreforms. (Read more at PaxRwanda).

There will be opportunities for visitors to create their own visual responses and learn more about the cultural keyword "Migrations" during the exhibition.
