'just us at work' — the art action continues

The 'art action' called 'just us at work' will continue in Kassel and the Amtsgericht until September 10. Veronica Betani and Cebo Mvubu have returned to South Africa and to the Keiskamma Art Project. But Deborah Doering, DOE Projekts, continues to tell groups of visitors about KAP's creative work and also about the collaboration of the past 13 weeks. DOE Projekts thanks artist Shauna Angel Blue for her contribution to our ongoing project.

'just us at work' — we exhibit our work at d(13)'s Huguenot House and attract interested viewers, new support, art buyers and collectors

We were invited to exhibit our art works at Documenta 13/Theaster Gates' Huguenot House. As a result of the exhibition we sold three of our 'floor plan' tapestries -- one will go to a New York City collection, one to Berlin, and one to Köln!  We thank our new collectors for their purchases and support.

'just us at work' — performing "Zeros and Ones" on the facade of the Amtsgericht

With the help of Frau Merton (Amtsgericht apprenctice supervisor) and the "Lehrlings" (legal apprentices), we performed a synchronized application of "Zeros and Ones" on the windows of the Amtsgericht on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10 am. All zeros and ones were systematically applied within a 20 minute time period. Tobias Kisling, reporter from the HNA (Hessische/Niedersächsische Allgemeine) Newspaper, created a video of the performance that will soon be posted on the HNA website. Within an hour of the performance, a response of "question marks" were posted on the City Hall office windows, facing the Amtsgericht. We later met Anja Gieseler, one of the staff members in the department of Vermessung und Geoinformation at City Hall, and we were able to answer all pertinent questions about our 'art action' — 'just us at work.'

'just us at work' — Day 75 in Kassel and the Amtsgericht

Today is our 75th day in Kassel, and working on our ongoing "just us at work" project in the Amtsgericht. In 15 days, Cebo and Vero(nica) head back to Hamburg, South Africa. So we need to keep going these next two weeks -- looking back at our successes but also looking forward, continuing to re-arrange our zero and ones on the Amtsgericht windows. And today, Vero was our 'hero' with the zero -- she climbed the ladder to the third level and put up those zeros and ones!
